Explosion rattles site on Ardmore Avenue

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne firefighters responded Thursday afternoon to an explosion that rattled a construction site on the city's southwest side.It happened around 2:30 p.m. at the Brooks Asphalt plant on Ardmore Avenue.The fire went out on its own, officials at the scene said, but heavy smoke could still be seen around 3 p.m.Investigators did not initially believe anyone was hurt.The cause of the explosion has not been confirmed.
