Federal lawsuit seeks class-action status over kosher meals in prisons

The lawsuit, filed on Monday, Oct. 9 in Flint U.S. District Court, claims there are between 50 and 100 prisoners within the Michigan Department of Corrections who have been designated by the prison system as Jewish and approved to get religious meals, but are refused kosher certified meals by the MDOC.
