Woman’s Death Raises Concerns Over Welfare Checks On Inmates

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — An investigation into the death of a Boulder County Jail inmate has found deputies failed to conduct welfare checks on the woman as frequently as they should have.
Stephanie Anderson died May 27, one day after she was booked into the jail on suspicion of theft. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office determined Anderson died of natural causes related to an existing heart condition.
