Weld County Sees First Human Case Of West Nile Virus

WELD COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment confirmed Thursday the first reported human case of West Nile Virus for 2016.
“Most people infected with West Nile virus will not show any symptoms,” said Mark Wallace, MD MPH, Executive Director for the Health Department. He says typically, those who have the virus will recover on their own, though fatigue and weakness can last weeks or months.
