Warning: Backcountry Avalanches Likely Today West Of Denver

By Chris SpearsDENVER (CBS4) – The Colorado Avalanche Information Center says heavy wind-blown snow from the most recent winter storm has prompted very dangerous avalanche conditions in north-central Colorado.
An avalanche warning has been issued through 12 p.m. Monday for locations around Vail, Summit County and the Front Range Mountains. The highest risk for a slide is near and above treeline.
One to two feet of new and wind-blown snow are loading weak layers buried deeper in the snowpac
