VA Says It Tried To Fire Executive For Hospital Cost Overrun
AURORA, Colo. (AP) — The Veterans Affairs Department was about to fire one executive because of massive cost overruns at a VA hospital outside Denver, and another was under investigation, but both retired before the department could take an action, Deputy VA Secretary Sloan Gibson said Wednesday.
