‘Tribes’ Makes Us Question What It Means To Be Understood

DENVER (CBS4)– In Tribes, the members of Billy’s family share private languages, inside jokes and fiery arguments. But meeting a special person causes Billy, who has been deaf since birth, to question what it means to be understood.
Billy struggles with a family that demands he be a part of the hearing world while essentially turning his back on signing in a place in his own tribe in the community.
