DENVER (CBS4)– President Obama signed into law the most sweeping education reform in decades, calling it a “Christmas miracle.” It comes after more than a decade of heated debate and it passed Congress with wide bi-partisan support.
The law replaces No Child Left Behind, which was passed in 2001 and dramatically expanded the federal government’s role in education, ushering in an era of standardized tests and federal sanctions.
