Semi Trailer Fire Causes I-70 Backup In Mountains

SILVER PLUME, Colo. (CBS4) – A semi trailer caught fire late Friday morning on Interstate 70 in the mountains and caused a big traffic backup.

The fire started sometime after 11 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Silver Plume, just west of Georgetown.

There’s no word so far what the semi was hauling.
The interstate was closed in both directions while emergency crews worked to put out the fire.
