Rockies Designate Axford, Rosario For Assignment

DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have designated three relievers for assignment, including right-hander John Axford.
Other players designated for assignment Friday were lefty Rex Brothers and righty Tommy Kahnle, along with infielder/catcher Wilin Rosario.
The team also agreed to a one-year deal with outfielder Brandon Barnes that avoided arbitration.
