Rockies’ Descalso Sidelined Several Weeks With Broken Hand

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) – The Colorado Rockies’ veteran utility infielder Daniel Descalso will be out several weeks with a broken bone in his non-throwing hand.
Descalso was hurt Friday when he was hit on the left hand by Tom Gorzelanny’s pitch in a win over Cleveland. The team announced Tuesday that an MRI revealed Descalso has an avulsion fracture.
