Rock Slide Closes I-70 Frontage Road In Clear Creek County

EMPIRE JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4)– The Colorado Department of Transportation has closed the north side of the frontage road for Interstate 70 east of Empire Junction in Clear Creek County because of a rock slide.
Crews said there is more unstable rock remaining above the roadway on the north side of County Road 308.
The slope above the road is saturated and unstable which makes it unsafe for rock scaling crews to mitigate further potential rock fall risks.
