Probation For Former Detective Who Tipped Off Suspect

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — A former Boulder police detective who sent a warning email to a suspect in an Internet child-luring case has been sentenced to three years of probation and must complete 500 hours of community service.
The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office says 58-year-old Jack Gardner was sentenced Friday. A jury convicted him in September of being an accessory to a crime, official misconduct and obstructing a peace officer.
