McKenry Needs Knee Surgery, Rockies Call Up Catcher Garneau

DENVER (AP) – The Colorado Rockies have called up catcher Dustin Garneau from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace catcher Michael McKenry, who needs surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee and will miss the rest of the season.
The Rockies placed McKenry on the 60-day disabled list on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Garneau, who is making his first appearance on a major league roster, will be available against Washington on Wednesday night.
