Man Who Fell Off Raft Turns Out To Be Parole Absconder

CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) — A rafter who disappeared after falling into the Arkansas River apparently didn’t want to be found because he was wanted for skipping his parole.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Styron Smith of Canon City was one of five people who fell into the river when their raft flipped on Saturday. The others, including a 1-year-old child, were quickly recovered but searchers looking for Smith by foot, raft, Jet Ski and helicopter found no sign
