DENVER (CBS4)– A man has been charged with leaving his eight-month-old dog in a hot car in June. That dog then had to be euthanized.Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged Dane Hampel with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals.On June 24, a law enforcement officer discovered the unconscious and unresponsive dog inside a parked car near 12th Avenue and Delaware Street and contacted animal control.
