DENVER (CBS4) – Temperatures in the sky above Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins will be warmer than the temperatures at the ground. This somewhat unusual setup is called an inversion and will limit how much the metro area can warm up on Saturday. Higher elevations on the west and south sides of town near the foothills and along the Palmer Divide will be the warmest locations with highs in the 50s. Elsewhere highs will likely be stuck in the 40s.
