I-25 & U.S. 36 Express Lane Users Can Get A Free Transponder

DENVER (CBS4) – The Colorado Department of Transportation is now offering switchable HOV transponders for free for commuters who use the carpool lanes on Interstate 25 and U.S. 36.

Drivers previously had to pay $15 to get a transponder even if all they planned to do was use the carpool lane.
Drivers who get the free pass must drive in HOV mode at least once in the first six months to avoid the charge.
