Hours-Long Standoff Ends With Fatal Shooting Of Suspect

DENVER (CBS4) – The suspect in a police standoff is dead after an exchange of gunfire Sunday night.
It began Sunday afternoon when police received a call at 5:30 p.m. about shots fired on South Alcott Street near West Dakota Avenue.
It is known the suspect had injured himself with non-life threatening injures. He was also wanted for a warrant in a robbery case.
Police tried negotiating with the 28-year-old man for hours before calling in a SWAT team just before 11 p.m.
