Hickenlooper Discusses Proposed Budget Cuts With Lawmakers

DENVER (AP) – Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper told lawmakers about his plans to cut college funding and dip into a savings account in an effort to address a big state budget shortfall.
The projected shortfall is $373 million, and Hickenlooper on Thursday briefed a panel of state lawmakers on how he’s proposing to balance the budget for next fiscal year that begins July 1.
