Hefty Fines For Boulder Residents Who Don’t Use Bear-Proof Trash Cans

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)– Boulder residents living on the west side of town are facing steep fines if they don’t bear proof their garbage.
Beginning Wednesday, June 15, trash cans that aren’t bear resistant could result in $250 to $1,000 fines. It’s $250 for the first offense, $500 for the second and $1,000 for the third.
