Hayden Pass fire now 60 percent contained with moisture expected over burn area

Fire officials say the Hayden Pass fire burning southeast of Salida is 60 percent contained and that monsoonal moisture is expected over the burn area this week.
“Firefighters continue mop-up along the fire perimeter improving the strength of the fireline,” incident commanders said in a Sunday night bulletin. “A couple smokes were discovered towards Hayden Pass approaching from the east.”
