#FreeSamba Campaign For East High Student Heads To Court

DENVER (CBS4)– The East High School student from Senegal charged with using a BB gun to try to rob a fellow student appeared in court on Thursday along with a lot of supporters.
Elhadji Samba Dioum, 19, faces charges of theft, attempted aggravated robbery and menacing. Police say he used a BB gun to threaten a student. The school was on lockout for hours and students had to put into place the “active shooter scenario” they had practiced.
