Former Grand County Commissioner Sentenced For Embezzlement
HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — A former Grand County commissioner accused of embezzling thousands of dollars has been sentenced to 10 days in jail and two years of supervised probation.
James Newberry, who resigned in November and was sentenced Friday, also was ordered to complete 130 hours of community service and pay about $4,800 in restitution. He pleaded no contest to embezzlement of public property.
