Former El Paso County Sheriff Turns Himself In

GILPIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)– The former El Paso County Sheriff has turned himself in to authorities and bonded out. Terry Maketa has been indicted by Arapahoe County on charges that include kidnapping and extortion.
Maketa turned himself in to authorities in Gilpin County Thursday morning and then bonded out.
He became entangled in controversy during his last year in office in 2014 when he was accused of having sex with subordinates and giving those women preferential treatment.El Paso Cou
