EPA: Sediment Accidentally Released In Western Colorado Creek

DENVER (AP) — The Environmental Protection Agency says a contractor inadvertently released about 2,000 gallons of sediment-bearing water into a western Colorado creek from a holding pond outside an inactive mine.
EPA spokeswoman Laura Jenkins said Thursday the water in the pond had been treated but she didn’t yet know whether it contained contaminants.
