Deputy Tries To Help Stranded Motorist, Suspect Pulls Out Assault Rifle

DOUGLAS COUNTY (CBS4) – One suspect was rushed to the hospital after an officer-involved shooting involving a Douglas County Sheriff’s deputy.
The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. Friday at County Line Road and Santa Fe. The deputy pulled over to assist a stranded motorist on the side of the road when the suspect produced an assault rifle.
The deputy ordered the suspect to drop the weapon. When he didn’t, the deputy fired.
