Colorado Lawmakers Weigh Electronic Police Citations

DENVER (AP) — Colorado lawmakers are considering having some police agencies issue citations electronically as a way to ease data collection on racial profiling.
A committee charged with finding ways to collect profiling data pitched the idea Monday. The proposal includes a new optional system of people self-reporting their ethnicity when they get a driver’s licenses.
