Broncos Welcome Vernon Davis To The Mix

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Tight end Vernon Davis is wearing No. 80 and practicing with the Denver Broncos, who acquired him this week from the San Francisco 49ers in a low-risk trade.
To make room on the roster, the Broncos put rookie left tackle Ty Sambrailo on season-ending injured reserve. Sambrailo needs surgery on his left shoulder.
Davis is a 10th-year pro and two-time Pro Bowler who spent his first 9 1-2 seasons with the 49ers. He has 18 receptions for 194 yards this season.
