Broncos Go With Rookie Punter, Release Britton Colquitt
DENVER (CBS4/The Sports Xchange) – The punting competition in Broncos Country is over.
The Broncos cut veteran Britton Colquitt on Tuesday before the NFL deadline to cut the roster to 75 players. The team decided to go with seventh-round pick Riley Dixon as their punter instead.
Colquitt did not play Saturday against the Rams, leaving all of the punting and holding duties to Dixon.
Dixon has a net preseason average of 41.2 yards.
