Body Found In Apartment Above Deli After Fire

DENVER (CBS4) – A portion of Welton Street was closed in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood Monday morning after an apartment fire.
Firefighters responded at approximately 2:30 a.m. to a unit above Rosenberg’s Bagels & Delicatessen at Welton Street and 26th Avenue. They arrived to a smoke-filled apartment on the second floor.
Much of the fire was extinguished by 3 a.m. When firefighters were able to enter, one person was found deceased inside a closet.
