Big Leak In Old Pipe Behind Water Shortage

MONUMENT, Colo. (CBS4)– A big leak in an old water pipe is believed to be the cause of a major water shortage in Monument.Crews found the leak and believe it is responsible for more than 50 million gallons of missing water.Last month water usage topped out at two million gallons a day which was more than the community’s wells could handle.Water restrictions were put in place while crews looked for the cause. Now that they’ve found the leak, it will be repaired.
