Big CO wind power project wins approval
DENVER (AP) - A proposal to build one of the biggest wind electric power projects in Colorado to provide clean energy to the Front Range has won approval from the Colorado Public Utilities Commission.Xcel Energy is planning to build 300 wind turbines across more than 110,000 acres in Cheyenne, Elbert, Kit Carson, and Lincoln counties in eastern Colorado.The power plants will be connected by a 90-mile transmission line to a substation near Denver.
