Attorneys Request Competency Exam For Planned Parenthood Shooter

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Attorneys for a man who acknowledges killing three people at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic will return to court to discuss his mental competency exam.
The Wednesday hearing will likely focus whether the evaluation of 57-year-old Robert Dear has been completed.
A judge ordered the exam after Dear announced that he wanted to fire his public defenders and represent himself. The exam will show whether he is mentally capable of making that decision.
