Woman Critical After Texas Sheriff’s Deputy Shoots Her

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Authorities in Texas say a woman is in critical condition after she was shot by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy.
Authorities say the Bexar County deputy shot the woman early Friday after he pulled to the side of the road believing she was a stranded driver. The deputy told investigators the woman was agitated when he stopped to help.
It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the shooting, but the woman was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
