V-280 Valor makes maiden flight as Bell Helicopter vies for $100B military contract

Bell has high hopes for the V-280 Valor, which is designed to fly twice as fast as conventional helicopters. The V-280 would replace the Black Hawk and Apache helicopters now in use by the U.S. Army, and will revolutionize military battle planning and capabilities, Bell executives say.
