Tyler Technologies purchases government tech company

Tyler Technologies Inc. (NYSE: TYL) is acquiring data-as-a-service company Socrata Inc. for an undisclosed amount.Seattle-based Socrata helps governments and public sector organizations shift their information online. Its customers include the Michigan State Budget Office, the Utah Department of Transportation and general administrative offices in several states.With the deal, Tyler clients in industries like justice, public safety, financial and community development will have a platform to&hel
