Mesquite approves economic incentives for new housing development

The city of Mesquite has approved a resolution providing economic incentives to a homebuilder seeking to build 900 new residences.The resolution exempts a portion of local sales taxes on building materials for Bloomfield Homes, the company constructing the residences. The city will refund approximately $308,000 to Bloomfield Homes over the next 10 years for the taxes paid on the materials, according to the resolution.
