(CBSDFW.COM/CBSNEWS) – U.S. Sen. John McCain has passed away at the age of 81 after a battle with brain cancer, his office announced Saturday evening.
McCain was a military hero who had a long career as a “maverick” Republican senator.
In a statement, his Senate office said he died at 4:28 p.m. on August 25, surrounded by his wife Cindy and his family.
