Bell scores massive $510M award for helicopter production

Bell, the Fort Worth-based business unit of Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT), scored a deal valued at over half a billion dollars for the production of more than two dozen helicopters, the U.S. Department of Defense said Thursday.The award calls for the manufacture and delivery of 29 AH-1Z aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps' H-1 upgrade program. The award is valued at $509,750,754.The company's Fort Worth location will see 60 percent of the work, while the other 40 percent will be conducted in Amarillo.
