UConn’s largest freshman class spells out their arrival on campus

STORRS — It was no small feat to line up 3,000 new students to spell UCONN on the Great Lawn Saturday in a formation that was 90 yards wide and 35 yards tall.
Taking place at 8 a.m. the day after the arrival of the Class of 2019, the event was captured by UConn photographer Peter Morenus and videographer Elizabeth Caron. Morenus was hoisted 100 feet in the air to document it.

The University of Connecticut says it is the largest-ever freshman class with about 5,
