Two state swimming areas closed due to algae
HARTFORD – Two popular swimming areas in state parks are closed due to high counts of algae.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced the swimming areas of Kettletown State Park in Southbury and Indian Well State Park in Shelton were both closed on Thursday. Testing revealed high levels of blue-green algae in the water at both parks. Gay City State Park in Hebron had been closed earlier in the week, but did reopen.
