Two state parks closed due to blue-green algae heading into Labor Day weekend

SHELTON–Two state parks remain closed to swimming as we approach Labor Day weekend.
Both Kettletown State Park in Southbury and Indian Well State Park in Shelton are closed due to blue-green algae in the water.
Blue-green algae is produced naturally, but it can produce toxins that could be harmful to humans and dogs. It is especially common when temperatures are high and there is storm water runoff into water bodies.
