State, Advocates Broker Child Welfare Agreement

(Bridgeport, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – The state and child advocates appear closer to a plan to streamline the system and remove the Department of Children and Families from court oversight.
The new plan, before a U.S. District Court judge, reduces the remaining goals from 22 to 10.
It stems from a lawsuit, Juan v. Malloy.
While the plan that replaces one first filed in 2004 does acknowledge some existing priorities, it also states progress has been made.
