Riders rescued after being stranded on ride at Big E

WEST SPRINGFIELD — Riders had to be rescued from a ride that stopped suddenly at the Big E fair Thursday. Western Mass News reported that fair goers had to be removed by firefighters from the “Wipeout”  which had come to a stop mid-ride. They were stuck on the ride for about two hours. The incident started around 7:30 p.m. Firefighters used a ladder truck to rescue the people. Check back for further details as they develop.
