Reported Underground Explosion Closes Busy Hartford Street

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – A reported underground explosion closed Columbus Boulevard in Downtown Hartford Wednesday morning.
The busy thoroughfare was shut down between State Street and Bob Steele Street, said police. Police warned motorists that the closure would likely affect inbound traffic on the Founders Bridge.
Eversource responded to the scene to make repairs.
There were no evacuations.
Police estimates that the street would be reopened shortly after 9:30 a.m.
