Police: State Trooper Injured After Driver Hits Cruiser

BEACON FALLS, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – A Connecticut State Police trooper has been injured by an allegedly drunken driver who struck a cruiser.
A department spokeswoman says the trooper was conducting a traffic stop on state Route 8 in Beacon Falls at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday when the cruiser was struck.The trooper was inside the vehicle at the time and was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with minor injuries.
