Man whose New Haven murder conviction was reinstated loses appeal

HARTFORD — Connecticut’s second-highest court has rejected the appeal of a man whose murder conviction was reinstated after he was freed from prison.
The state Appellate Court ruled Tuesday against 53-year-old George Gould. Gould and Ronald Taylor were freed in 2010 after serving 16 years in prison for a 1993 New Haven murder, after a key prosecution witness recanted and a judge declared them victims of “manifest injustice.”
