Man to get $2 million after New London police shoot, disable him

NEW LONDON — A Connecticut man has been awarded $2 million after he was shot multiple times by a New London police officer following a chase in which he stole and crashed an ice truck.
Curtis Cunningham was shot four times on Aug. 24, 2011 after a chase through the city that led to a crash. Cunningham was unarmed and standing in the overturned ice truck when the officer yelled for him to drop his weapon. Tests showed Cunningham had PCP in his system at the time.
