Man Serving 80-Year Sentence Gets New Murder Trial

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – A Bridgeport man currently serving an 80-year prison sentence in the slaying of a woman and the wounding of his girlfriend and her daughter a decade ago has been granted a new trial.
The Connecticut Post reports the state Appellate Court ruled on Monday that the jury that convicted Durante Best should have been instructed to consider that his actions were self-defense.
